Apple - There's an App for That!

Learning Target:  I can duplicate this chart using my Excel skills!

  1. Copy and paste this chart to a new Excel file so that it is easy to refer to as you are working.
  2. Using an arrow from your drawing tools, draw an arrow pointing to this chart labeling it as the "Original Chart"
  3. Now create the spreadsheet data that represents the information graphically shown here.  (Note:  You may want to create data for just a few dates and/or items and then make a "sample" chart to test it before entering too much information.  You may want to do this several times as you are working to check your "estimates" for the numbers.)
  4. Remember to recolor the chart to mirror the look!  Note:  You do not need to include the gray block at the top of the chart that starts with Silicon Alley.  You may want to use text boxes for labeling some of the items.
  5. Using an arrow from your drawing tools, draw an arrow pointing to the chart you created and label is at your "Copycat" attempt.
  6. Arrange and size the charts (and arrows) so that everything fits to one page.   (Note:  The original chart can be much smaller.)
  7. Add a footer than includes your name, date completed, and class hour.
  8. Rename the tab "Apple" and color the tab blue.  Save!
