Formula's

  1. Create a formula to calculate the "Grade Points per Class" in column G. (You must multiply the "# of Credits per Class" by its "Grade Point Equivalent" for each class). Hint: Enter the formula once and then use the “fill down” feature!
     
  2. In cell A11, type the label "Total Credits". Bold this label.
     
  3. In cell D11, use the SUM function to add the "# of Credits per Class" column.
     
  4. In cell A12, type the label "Total Grade Points". Bold this label.
     
  5. In cell D12, use the SUM function to add the "Grade Points per Class" column.
     
  6. In cell A13, type the label "My Estimated GPA". Bold this label.
     
  7. In cell D13, write a formula that will divide your "Total Grade Points" by "Total Credits".
  8. Change the Tab Name to Estimated GPA and the color of the tab to Green.
     
  9. Save this file as (Your name's) GPA.
  10. Add a chart below the spreadsheet data (of your choice and one that makes sense!) that visually displays information from this spreadsheet. To the left or right of the chart, justify your chart choice.
     
  11. Print Preview this file to make sure that your entire table fits on one page. Make any necessary adjustments. You always want to Print Preview your spreadsheet before printing to make sure that no information that is cut-off during the print job.
     
  12. Right-click on cell A1 and give it a background color. You may need or want to change the font color as well. (right-click > format cells > fill).
     
  13. Spend some time adjusting the alignment of text, alignment of numbers, and alignment of headings so that your spreadsheet is appealing to the eye and easy to read. You may also want to change number formats and/or number of decimal places.
     
  14. Then add color, shading, and borders to the rest of your table to make it look nice. Follow the same instructions you used in step 10 above.
  15. Center the spreadsheet on the page vertically and horizontally under the Page Setup Dialog Box.
