USDA Comparison
Judgment aside, let's see how we did assuming we follow a standard 2000 calorie diet as recommended by the U.S. Department of Agriculture. A chart of the recommended daily allowance below will assist with this task.
|
- Below your table of information, key USDA Recommendations: in Column A. Bold this subtitle.
- Using the Recommended Daily Allowance Chart below, key in the recommendation amounts across the row for each category. Note: For categories that have a range, you will need to select either the lowest number recommended or highest number recommended - you cannot use a range in the calculations that are to follow.
- In the next row in Column A, key Under or Over Recommendations. Bold this subtitle as well.
- In Column B of this row, enter a formula to subtract the category total from the USDA Recommendations. =USDA Recommendation - Total
- Fill this formula across the row for all categories.
- Format the numbers in this row so that any negative numbers appear in red and in parenthesis.
- Format all numbers to one decimal place.
- Save!
- Using the table information, create three charts of your choice that highlight key factors this data presents. Format appropriately and size so that all three charts are under the spreadsheet data horizontally and the worksheet fits to one-page.
- Save!
