Quality Control

- Create a copy of "the Facts!" worksheet and rename the worksheet Quality Control. Change the tab color to green and arrange the sheets so that the Quality Control worksheet is the last worksheet tab.
- Delete the chart from the Quality Control worksheet.
- Edit the title in cell A1 to "[First Name]'s Quality Control Data
- In cell B4, key your first name. Resize the column width as necessary to fit your first name.
- Save!
- Go to Edmodo and look at your classmates replies to this assignment with their candy data. Gather data from three of your classmates (with the same candy type as you) so that you can add their information to your spreadsheet as well.
- Beginning in cell C4 and continuing through cell E4, title each column with the your classmate's name and resize as needed to fit their name in the cell. Right-align and bold the names in the range B4:E4.
- Below each classmates name, add the data they had recorded regarding the contents of their packages of candy.
- Using the "Fill Feature" copy the totals formula in cell B12 across the cells to E12. This should sum the totals of your classmates data. Check to make sure that the numbers you entered match up to the actual counts.
- Delete Row 3 that show the Actual Counts; this data is repeated below in the Totals row.
- Save!
- Bold the candy colors and change the text of the candy colors to be representative of that color.
- Bold the "Total" title and the Totals in Row 10, but leave black.
- In cell F3, key the title "Average". In cell F4, use the function "Average" to have Excel determine the average color count for the first color on your list. Use the "Fill Down" feature to copy this formula for each color.
- In cell G3, key the title "Minimum". In cell G4, use the "Minimum" function to have Excel determine the minimum of each color included in the candy packages. Use the "Fill Down" feature to copy this formula for each color.
- In cell H3, key the title "Maximum". In cell H4, use the "Maximum" function to have Excel determine the maximum of each color included in the candy packages. Use the "Fill Down" feature to copy this formula to each color.
- Bold and right-align the headings for Average, Minimum, and Maximum.
- Select the range A3:E9 and insert a clustered column chart.
- Position the chart below the spreadsheet data, add an appropriate title to the chart, and format in a manner that will best visually display the information you are comparing.
- Look at the data and the chart you created. Is the company consistent with the quantity of the product per package? Is there an equal number of colors per package or is there quite a variance? Below the chart, compose a five-sentence paragraph summarizing the information you revealed in your quality control comparison. Note: To keep the information from extending across several columns, select the area you would like to use and then follow these steps: Right-click > select Format Cells > click on the Alignment Tab > check the box to Wrap Text as well as the box to Merge the Cells.
